Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars YUMMY!   August 4, 2007
Kickin' bass and a crystal clear recording makes this new dub remix of classic reggae tunes sound like it was made today. The 3rd cut with Dillinger never sounded better. There's even Ella Fitzgerald singing the Cream's Sunshine Of Your Love with a brand new dub twist that makes it sound like it's a refreshing hit of today. It's a way better version than it ever was compared to the out of place Ella trying to be hip singing this classic rock Cream song. Even Luciano's song never sounded that good until now. A very inventive and interesting collection, this is one of the best dub/chill combinations I've ever heard!

In the increasingly popular format of the remix album, "Elephant House" deserves a space on the CD
shelve next to its' other proven peers Thievery Corporation, Kruder and Dorfmeister, and Jazzanova. As
one of the currently most sought after remixing team, Groove Corporation, a trio out of Birmingham, flex
their shred-cut-reconstruct muscle over classic tracks by Bob Marley, Dillinger, UB40, Luciano, Rae and
Christian, Bobby Womack and Ennio Morricone to name only half the roster of talent on this cd.
Shamelessly mixing soul, funk, roots into unavoidable bass powered dance grooves where the beats dig
deep but never overwhelm, the versatility of the original tracks creates great variety, and the remixes never
feel like a "one size fits all" recipe. To the contrary, each piece finds itself re-vamped into a seemingly new timeless classic.

5 out of 5 stars press release   February 12, 2002
Guidance Recordings and Hi Fidelity Dub Sessions are pleased to announce the release of this sterling
remix collection from Birmingham, England based dub outfit Groove Corporation. Formerly know as
chart topping UK pop act Electribe 101, Groove Corporation ( aka Brian Nordhoff, Joe Stevens, and Rob
Cimarosti) are one the most sought after remix and production teams on the down beat scene. Their state
of the art, stream lined roots sound has earned them the enviable right to remix, rearrange, and re-interpret
the classic works of their musical mentors, and the sweet fruits of their labor are captured on this essential
best of collection. The track listing reads like a virtual who's who of reggae, soul, and electronic legends,
and features exclusive and previously unreleased mixes of Bob Marley, UB40, Bobby Womack, Rae and
Christian, Dillenger, Enio Morricone and many more. Appyling their midas touch to these timeless
masters, the lads deliver a peerless program of spacious horizontal dub, soul, funk and down tempo
electronic grooves complete with Y2K complaint beats and baselines. The remix album is becoming an
increasingly popular format in the electronic music market and this stellar collection will appeal strongly
to fans of similar genre related titles from artists like Kruder and Dorfmeister and Jazzanova.
