deborah is on fire! April 29, 2008 Great Dance Cd, Deborah Cox will really make u sweat with this one. Play this one while your working out, Great Electronica/Dance Album.
Ultimate Delight! October 22, 2007 Oh, such a sheltered life I've led! I happened upon this artist by accident. She was featured on a mix CD I got. I listened, loved her voice, and thought I'd see what else I could find. I sure am glad I "looked her up."
Deborah Cox's voice is unbelievable--strong, powerful, full of soulfulness, and energy--you won't be able to forget it! Now you may ask if I've been living under a rock, and my reply would be, well, sorta' I guess. It seems she's been around for a while. I may have heard a snippet here and there of some of her other songs, but (as usual) they NEVER identify the artist.
This ultimate CD contains 17 tracks, so it's definitely a great buy. All tracks are good to fantastic! Some songs that stick out are "Up & Down (In & Out),"--very funky, very hot salsa; "Who Do You Love?"--very funky R & B; "It Could've Been You"--funkier still; and the tear-jerker "Same Script, Different Cast." I have also ordered "Deborah Cox Remixed," so I'm anxiously awaiting arrival of that. I have damned near worn this CD out already.
I can't really compare Ms. Cox to anyone else--her voice is her own. BUT, it is strong and very melodic. If you haven't already bought this one, you should. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

It is dance music. I heard a singer on WBGO and really liked her. When the set was over I waited to hear who it was. Having never heard of Deborrah Cox before I thought that I had discoverd a great Jazz singer. So I bought two of her CD,s. The other one was good.

First and foremost im an enormous Deborah Cox fan. Their are few voices with her crystalline and powerful vocals. However I had to intervene when I read back to back reviews that stated Deborah cox's voice is superior to that of Mrs. Whitney Houston, or as I like to call her...the greatest singer of all time. I think people are making the mistake of comparing the 2 currently. In her day Whitney was incomparable, and still even now with a diminishing voice she still surpasses most singers out there....including Deborah Cox. There is however no doubt that Mrs. Cox is a stellar singer in the category of greats such as Whitney, Mariah, Yolanda Adams, Celine, Patti, etc. But make no mistake noone is superior vocally to the ridiculously talented Whitney Houston.
One of R&B's best voices. December 22, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I actually think her voice is superior to fellow songstress Whitney Houston. I don't know what Clive Davis (i've had issues with him recently) was thinking when he dropped her from his J Records label. Hopefully that means she'll have better records and sales now. Anyways, about the album, it includes her classic hits like "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here", the remake of "Just Be Good to Me" and her breakthrough hit "Who Do You Live." Fans of her techno music do not fear! Her dance mix hits are included as well...which put Cox in a whole new genre she never really expected. You will be amazed at her flawless voice throughout this collection. My favorites are "Just Be Good To Me", "I Never Knew (Hani Remix)", "Same Script Different Cast" and "Who Do You Love." Highly reccomended to R&B/Deborah Cox.
