| Editorial Reviews:
Album Description Everyone loves a Cinderella story. In 2006, the glass slipper belongs to Cassie, thanks to her smash debut single "Me & U". Just like the single, her debut album Cassie is infectious, seductive, and deep.
Amazon.com While much has been made of former model Cassie's leap into the R&B ring--the vampy, MySpace-fueled first single "Me & U" topped more than a few best-of-summer lists--almost as much has been made of the wispiness of her voice. But what those who have stopped straddling the fence know is that the pillow-lipped beauty makes up for what she lacks in vocal power with an abundance of less obvious musical proficiencies: Cassie's a master of sass, a guru of guile. Hear it not only on the mildly menacing and seriously thrilling "Me & U," but also on "Long Way 2 Go," a merciless tease aimed at an amorous man who really ought to have known better. The rest of this brief disc bumps along on the greatness of its beats. Master blaster and producer Ryan Leslie (also Cassie's beau, it's rumored) strings together a minicourse on sampling as he slyly dips from old-school jazz to disco to vintage flamenco. Credit Cassie, though, for concocting a whole lotta 'tude. R&B has a whispery new minx. -Tammy La Gorce

Hmmm...4 stars and heres why September 11, 2008 Cassie's debut is better than Amerie's second & third CD's, or for that matter any Danity CD. Her voice is just a touch better than Rihanna's, not by much but at least she put forth the effort to hold the note. That being said, I agree with the other reviewer that said she is geared for teenage ears. There is nothing wrong with her shaking that particular tree. It's actually better than all the no names over at Disney that are selling out arenas with absolutely "NO" mainstream airplay. However, the real star of this particular show is Ryan Leslie, he put his foot in this record. Diddy & Ryan needed to save some of this for Danity and Day 26. I could actually groove to some of the instumentals. The question remains, can she pull it off again? With a little vocal coaching and some serious beats to match this...The girl might be going places.
Uummm, WOW! May 22, 2008 Diddy was tripping when he signed her. Her voice sounds so bad, that it's not even funny. Don't buy this album, it sucks!
She PLAYED herself!!!!! May 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wow 10 songs do not make an album. Anyways Cassie PLAYED herself. Its ok if you dont have an amazing voice like Mariah, Whitney, Kelly, Christina, etc. But you have to use what you got & she didnt. ME & U is the only decent song on her & everything else makes u wanna fall asleep.
Good start bad marketing closes to aaliyah we have September 2, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The album is not that bad to be honest. Compared to Rihanna I think Cassie is better. Her production is great and goes well with her voice. I've heard worse albums from vets in the game.
She is the closes to Aaliyah we have to be honest and I say this because music is my life and I know good music when I hear it. D.C.
