5 out of 5 stars Well worth the purchase   May 29, 2007

When I heard the opening lines to Clocks on Track 1 I wasn't extremely impressed. However, the musicians do a terrific job at subtly building the song up. Being a musician myself, I was very pleased with the talent of these pickers.
I was definitely in love with their take on "High Speed". There is almost a duel going on between the banjo and the mandolin in the song. Where one is prominent the other drops out, but later all the instruments blend with each other.
Each song has it's own uniqe characteristic to it. Some of the songs that may be a ballad performed by Coldplay have a more driving bluegrass feel to it, or vice versa.
This band does a fantastic job of paying very close attention to all the details in the song and to make sure they are not missed, but even sometimes used as a solo. I almost felt like some of the experiementation was reminiscent of a Pickin' On Radiohead (if one does exist). Very pleased with the purchase.
If you are like me and have a wide range of taste in music, I think you will enjoy this CD.

if you like fiddle and banjo like i do, you'll like this album better than the original ones by coldplay. the banjoist is phenomenal.
