3 out of 5 stars If you are going to do it,do it right.   October 14, 2001

While this box set may be a good overview of the 80's it however left out some pretty big bands and singers. Where is michael jackson? Madonna? Duran Duran? Bruce Sprinstine? i could go on. I could forgive these oversights if "Billboard" wasn't part of this box set's title; billboard is suppose to be the definitive authority when it comes to top hits and music charts so to put out such a box set with the above glaring omissions kind of leaves one short changed. Stil, a nice collection.

5 out of 5 stars It's About The Biggest Sellers, Folks...   June 24, 2001

I've noticed in one review here that someone was complaining about what's NOT on here. See, Billboard is about sales/airplay, so if your favorite hair band or rap group didn't have one of the 10 or 20 biggest hits of that particular year, they ain't going to be on this collection. Having said that, this is pretty representative of what was big on the pop charts that year. If you're looking for hard rock or rap, this wouldn't be where you should look for it in the first place.

5 out of 5 stars Take me back!   June 17, 2000
This is a great over view of the music of the late 80s. Lots of #1 big hits on all these CD's. If your into the 80s like I am this will not be the only set to own. But I don't think that is the point of this box set! It is just to bring back great music and reflect on what pop radio of the late 80s was playing!

2 out of 5 stars cd song selection for this box set could of been much better   September 15, 1999

of all the billboard cds, this box set of 85-89 does not contain enough of the top hits of this period. most of the songs are of the flip side vintage. the grouping and selection of songs surely does not reflect the top hits of 1985-89.a far cry from the best of billboards efforts on previous years. for myself, a disappointment.

This is a thight C.D. if you have a taste in pop rock. This is an awsome C.D. set. All of my ladies love these C.D.'s and they are entertained for hours on in. These C.D.s are good for driving and grooving. Take it from me these C.D.'s will bring the party to a whole new freaky level. Listen Hard and Long, "Above Da Law" Efaw
